This is an interactive, verse-by-verse Bible study and commentary of The Acts of the Apostles ("The Book of Acts" or simply "Acts"), which is the fifth book in the New Testament of the Bible. This study is in-depth but uses easy-to-understand English and a question and answer format that will engage you.
The Book of Acts is a fast-moving, historical account of the first three decades of the early church. It begins in Jerusalem after Jesus' resurrection and just before His ascension to heaven, recounts how the Gospel reached what are Syria, Lebanon, Turkey, Cyprus, Greece, and Malta today, and closes with the apostle Paul's two year ministry in Rome, Italy.
Some of the highlights you will witness include Stephen, the first Christian martyr; Peter's prison break; the demolition of the barrier between Jewish and gentile Christians; the conversion on the road to Damascus of Saul, the leading persecutor of Christians, into Paul, the leading Christian missionary to the gentiles, and his inspiring missionary journeys.
As mentioned in the Origin of the Bible, the "Book" of Acts is actually a letter written to Theophilus by Luke, the doctor who accompanied the apostle Paul on his latter missionary journeys and used his medical training to carefully record what Paul and the other apostles said and did as inspired by God.
"The Acts of the Apostles" may be a misnomer since what Luke recorded are the acts of the Holy Spirit through His human vessels, including the apostles, for the glory of Jesus. May He bless you as you witness the truth, grace and power with which He launched and continues to love His church.
